Bwana

A Toronto-born producer whose work has evolved from underground dubstep to the deepest of house, Nathan Micay became Bwana in 2012 with his single "Baby Let Me Finish." Released on the Somethinksounds label, the dubstep cut hit hard with a short Ciara sample and an infectious hook, then the Over & Done EP appeared on the Infinite Machine label and Bwana seemed a master of the R&B-meets-dubstep cut. He also signed with the Mad Decent imprint Jeffree's in 2012 and released the surprisingly serene house single "Can't You Just." Two years later he released the deep house EP Flute Dreams with the dark single "Tengo" issued in 2015, both of them by the AUS label. A 2014 vinyl reissue of the Akira soundtrack had the now Berlin-based Bwana returning to the music and crafting DJ edits of the tracks. In 2016, he further processed these remixes and released the results as the Capsule's Pride EP on the Luckyme label.
