Ashley Campbell

Ashley Campbell, the youngest daughter of country music icon Glen Campbell, initially pursued an acting career before taking up the banjo in 2008. Already an experienced pianist and guitarist, her banjo skills developed quickly and by 2009, she had joined her father on a tour of Australia and New Zealand. When her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease later that year, she joined Glen's band on his extended farewell tour that would last until 2012. She began collaborating with her brother Shannon in the indie folk duo Victoria Ghost, and occasionally joined her other brother Cal in his indie rock band Instant People. Ashley's guest spot playing banjo and appearing in the video for Rascal Flatts' 2012 hit "Banjo" raised her profile significantly as she continued to write her own material. Her first two singles as a solo artist were written for her father and appeared in the 2014 Glen Campbell documentary I'll Be Me. The poignant "Remembering" was a standout from the soundtrack and showcased Ashley's confident and warm folk-pop style. By this point, she had landed a solo deal with Dot Records, a division of Nashville's Big Machine Label Group. Working with producer Buddy Cannon, she began recording her debut album for Dot.
