John Bramwell

Born on 27 November 1964 in Hyde, Cheshire, John Bramwell is an English singer and guitarist who started out leading a band named The Ignition in the 1980s and became a television presenter and recording artist under the pseudonym Johnny Dangerously. He formed The Mouth in the 1990s and then I Am Kloot, with whom he received a Mercury Prize nomination in 2010 for the group's fifth album Sky at Night. The beloved indie band split up in 2016 and John Bramwell embarked on a solo career two years later, releasing the acoustic-focused debut Leave Alone the Empty Spaces under his own name in February 2018. The following September, he dropped a new single, "I Am The Sky," which was accompanied by a video featuring Ben Crompton and the Newcastle dance company Ballet Lorent. After taking a break between releases, he returned in February 2024 with his first new solo album in seven years, the cello-laced The Light Fantastic, which was produced by Dave Fidler.
