A Las Vegas, c’est bien connu, tout brille 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7. Le rock des Killers est un peu pareil. Née justement à Sin City à l’aube des années 2000, la bande de Brandon Flowers fait de chacun de ses nouveaux disques une sorte de fiesta permanente. Une orgie de sons échappés des années 80 – la décennie fétiche des Killers – qu’ils rendent plus contemporains. Surtout, les Killers sont experts en refrains pop redoutables. Ces airs entendus une fois une seule et qui prennent possession du cerveau de l’auditeur pour plusieurs jours, voire plusieurs semaines… Wonderful Wonderful ne déroge pas à la règle. Ce cinquième album est surtout porté par une production survitaminée signée Jacknife Lee, cador des consoles ayant œuvré notamment pour les Cars, U2, R.E.M., Robbie Williams, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Weezer, Editors ou bien encore Taylor Swift. Comme toujours avec les Killers, difficile de ne pas penser à U2, Depeche Mode, Simple Minds ou Duran Duran en version XXL.
