Sorti début 2013, Ô Filles de l'eau se voit donc octroyer la lourde charge de garder les options ouvertes pour Nolwenn. Entourée d'une solide équipe d'écriture (Miossec, Murat) capable d'imposer une certaine modernité à des traditions bien établies et manifestement soucieuse de ne pas se laisser enfermer dans une image tout en continuant d'offrir à son nouveau public ce qui l'a séduit dans Bretonne, Nolwenn opte pour un mélange des genres, offrant du coup un album charnière et affirmant au passage un désir de liberté artistique qui ne l'a jamais quittée et que l'on retrouve symboliquement à travers l'image de sirène qu'elle se donne sur la pochette.
