Morcheeba revient à ses premières amours musicales avec Blood Like Lemonade, qui réintègre les grooves downtempo familiers qui avaient marqué l'album de 2008, Dive Deep, mais cette fois, la chanteuse d'origine Skye Edwards est de retour dans la bataille. Dès l'ouverture, un accord poussiéreux de synthé mélancolique, l'album est immédiatement identifiable pour les fans, des grooves solides de fin de soirée s'associant à des mélodies à la fois pop et soul. Tous les éléments organiques perchés sur les boîtes à rythme lentes et grondantes sont de retour, ainsi que la sinistre menace de leur travail précédent, bien qu'elle soit légèrement amplifiée. Ajoutez "Crimson", qui serait la chanson de Morcheeba par excellence si "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day" n'existait pas, et Blood Like Lemonade dépasse toutes les attentes, arrivant en seconde place tout juste derrière le grand favori Big Calm.
