Ghulam Ali

Ghulam Ali is a highly acclaimed Pakistani singer renowned for his mastery of the ghazal genre. Born on December 5, 1940 in Kalengre, Nagra, Punjab, British India, Ghulam Ali's mesmerizing voice and profound musical talent have captivated audiences worldwide. Known for his unique style, Ghulam Ali blends Hindustani classical music with ghazals, accompanied by his emotive and expressive singing style, which has earned him widespread recognition and admiration. Many of his ghazals have been featured in Bollywood films, including Chupke Chupke Raat Din, Kal Chaudhvin Ki Raat Thi, and Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa. Ali has received several awards and accolades, including the Bade Ghulam Ali Khan award in 2013 and the Swaralaya Global Legend Award in 2016. He has also contributed to Nepali ghazals alongside well known singer Narayan Gopal and composer Deepak Jangam. Throughout his illustrious career, Ghulam Ali has released numerous successful albums, showcasing his exceptional vocal abilities and deep understanding of the intricacies of ghazal poetry, most notably: Ghazal Maestro Ghulam Ali (1980), Khwaja Ji (1989), Ghulam Ali & Asha Bhosle: Aawargi (1993), Mirza Ghalib (1997), Tumhare Khat Mein (2001), Ghazal Lounge (2006), Essence of Love: Ghulam Ali (2010), Ghulam Ali: The Golden Collection (2015) and Meraj - E – Ghazal (2018). In 2023, Ali’s 2005 hit Teri Yaad Yaad Yaadre-emerged on the charts, landing at number 87. With his unparalleled artistry, Ghulam Ali has established himself as a true icon of Pakistani music, leaving an indelible mark on the ghazal tradition.
