Confronté, il y a deux ans, à une certaine baisse de popularité avec The Evolution of Man (succédant au n°1 Playing in the Shadows), Example a choisi de ne rien changer. Là où d'autres auraient tenté une évolution, Example est resté droit dans ses beats, proposant avec Live Life Living la même electro dance qu'il pratique depuis ses débuts. Au moins ne cherche-t-il pas à noyer ses responsabilités avec l'aide d'invités, le présent disque en étant dépourvu.
Il n'est cependant pas certain - au vu du résultat - qu'Example ait pris la bonne décision. Malgré « One More Day (Stay with Me) » qui permet au moins à Live Life Living de mettre un tube en vitrine, le disque est cruellement dépourvu de faits saillants. Requis pour produire « Next Year », l'expérimenté Stuart Price (New Order, Keane, Hard-Fi...) n'est pas parvenu à faire mieux qu'un bon titre de big beat. C'est d'ailleurs le lot de l'ensemble du disque, majoritairement produit par Critikal, proposant une enfilade de refrains electro agréables mais sans véritable cachet.
La seule exception se nomme « All the Wrong Places », disponible en plusieurs remixes sur l'édition deluxe, qui n'a aucun mal à surnager avec sa mélodie nerveuse et racée. Ce n'est pas suffisant pour enlever l'impression de fadeur qui se dégage de Live Life Living, disque d'une grande discrétion qui risque de valoir à Example une nouvelle déconvenue plutôt qu'un rebond.
