Dès la création des premiers opéras lors de la Renaissance italienne, le mythe d’Orphée fut l’un des sujets de prédilection : pensez, un personnage mythologique musicien, quelle aubaine ! Puisant chez Monteverdi, Sartorio et Rossi, le contreténor Philippe Jaroussky, la soprano hongroise Emőke Baráth et Diego Fasolis avec son ensemble I Barocchisti ont créé une sorte de « pasticcio », suivant plus ou moins le déroulement de l’argument des uns et des autres – sachant que chaque librettiste a développé sa propre histoire à partir des sources antiques. On goûtera les évidentes différences de style d’un musicien à l’autre, ce qui n’a rien d’étonnant d’ailleurs quand on se rappelle que L’Orfeo de Monteverdi date de 1607 et fut donné à Mantoue, celui de Rossi de 1647 pour Paris et ses habitudes à la françaises, celui de Sartorio de 1672 pour la scène vénitienne. © SM/Qobuz
