Depuis sa mort en 1953, Django Reinhardt a influencé un nombre incalculable de guitaristes de jazz mais aussi de blues, de rock, de pop et de country. Et de Jimi Hendrix à BB King en passant par George Benson, Joe Pass, Carlos Santana, John Mc Laughlin, Les Paul, Jimmy Page, Hank Marvin, Chet Atkins, Jeff Beck, Jerry Garcia, Eric Clapton ou Mark Knopfler, tous ont bu à la source Django, musicien génial au cœur de ce biopic réalisé par Etienne Comar avec Reda Kateb. Pour la musique, le réalisateur a opté pour des experts en djangologie : le Trio Rosenberg. La formation composée de Stochelo, Nous'che et Nonnie Rosenberg revisite ici avec rigueur et virtuosité les standards du maître. Warren Ellis des Bad Seeds de Nick Cave, déjà auteur de nombreuses musiques de films, est aussi de la partie, pour une composition qui referme ce beau disque qui touchera les aficionados de jazz manouche. © CM/Qobuz
