Two Two

Two Two is a South Korean pop group consisting of Kim Ji Hoon, Hwang Hye Young, Oh Ji Hoon and Yoo Hyun Jae. The group's origins trace back to high school, where Oh Ji-hoon, Yoo Hyun-jae, and Kim Ji-hoon first performed together. Throughout their schooling, they continued to perform on the underground rock scene while attending Myongji College. Initially set to debut as a 3-member boy band named Traffic Light, the group's name changed to Two Two due to the fact that three members were all 22 years old. Lee Yoon-jung, who was the same age as them, participated as a female vocalist in their debut album. However, due to performance restrictions imposed by her family, she was represented on stage by Hwang Hye Young, who lip-synced and garnered significant attention from fans with her vibrant and fashionable style. Two Two's debut album achieved top album sales in August 1994, propelled by the success of the hit single "One and a Half," earning them the Rookie of the Year award at the Golden Disc Awards. After a brief hiatus, Two Two underwent reorganization in 1995, with Kim Ji-hoon assuming the role of leader and main vocalist. Additionally, Hwang Hye-young, Lim Sung-eun and Kim Jun were introduced as guest singers. They released their second album, Two Two 2, on June 30, followed by their third album, New Two Two, in May 1996, featuring rapper Kim Suk-min. In March 2024, their 1994 hit single "One and a Half" experienced a resurgence, reappearing on the Top 200 streaming charts.
