Voici réunis en 50 CD (2 volumes de 17 CD, 1 de 16) les enregistrements les plus emblématiques du Philharmonique de Berlin avec Deutsche Grammophon, en cent ans de collaboration ; le choix du contenu a été soumis au vote de 37 000 personnes invitées à sélectionner, sur une période de deux mois (de mars à mai 2013) vingt de leurs enregistrements préférés, avec pour seule contrainte l'équilibre chronologique. Ont été rassemblés ainsi les grandes pages symphoniques, 10 grands concertos, les œuvres chorales majeures, les chefs-d'œuvre du 20e siècle et les meilleurs moments de l'opéra. Entre la Cinquième de Beethoven par Arthur Nikisch en 1913 et le Strauss de Gustavo Dudamel enregistré en 2013, on retrouve tous les enregistrements studio de Wilhelm Furtwängler, 15 albums de Herbert von Karajan, 7 de Claudio Abbado, puis Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Karl Böhm, Carla-Maria Giulini, Ferenc Fricsay, Rafael Kubelik et bien d'autres ; côté solistes : Wilhelm Kempff, Geza Anda, Shura Cherkassky, Martha Argerich, Pierre Fournier, Mstislav Rostropovitch, Maurizio Pollini, Krystian Zimerman, et plus encore...

Voici réunis en 50 CD (2 volumes de 17 CD, 1 de 16) les enregistrements les plus emblématiques du Philharmonique de Berlin avec Deutsche Grammophon, en cent ans de collaboration ; le choix du contenu a été soumis au vote de 37 000 personnes invitées à sélectionner, sur une période de deux mois (de mars à mai 2013) vingt de leurs enregistrements préférés, avec pour seule contrainte l'équilibre chronologique. Ont été rassemblés ainsi les grandes pages symphoniques, 10 grands concertos, les œuvres chorales majeures, les chefs-d'œuvre du 20e siècle et les meilleurs moments de l'opéra. Entre la Cinquième de Beethoven par Arthur Nikisch en 1913 et le Strauss de Gustavo Dudamel enregistré en 2013, on retrouve tous les enregistrements studio de Wilhelm Furtwängler, 15 albums de Herbert von Karajan, 7 de Claudio Abbado, puis Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Karl Böhm, Carla-Maria Giulini, Ferenc Fricsay, Rafael Kubelik et bien d'autres ; côté solistes : Wilhelm Kempff, Geza Anda, Shura Cherkassky, Martha Argerich, Pierre Fournier, Mstislav Rostropovitch, Maurizio Pollini, Krystian Zimerman, et plus encore...
