Puff Daddy & The Family

Sean Love Combs, also known as Diddy, emerged from the streets of Harlem and ascended to the zenith of global entertainment, as a rapper, producer, and actor. Born on November 4, 1969, to Janice and Melvin Combs, he experienced tragedy early with the murder of his father. Embarking on his musical voyage as an intern at Uptown Records in 1990, Combs swiftly rose through the ranks, ultimately founding Bad Boy Records in 1993, after a rapid and tumultuous departure from Uptown. His label helped kickstart the careers of legendary artists such as Notorious B.I.G., propelling them into the limelight with hits that defined a generation. As a producer, his Midas touch was evident in albums by Mary J. Blige, Usher, and numerous others, shaping the soundscape of 1990s hip-hop and R&B. The dark cloud of East-West Coast rivalry and the untimely death of Notorious B.I.G. cast a shadow on Bad Boy, but Diddy found solace in music, crafting "I'll Be Missing You," a heartfelt tribute that made history as the first rap song to debut at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His studio debut, No Way Out, also proved extremely successful, winning the Grammy for Best Rap Album and achieving septuple platinum status. Over the following years, albums like Forever (1999), The Saga Continues... (2001), and Press Play (2006) further cemented his influence in the music industry. Last Train to Paris, released in 2009 under the Dirty Money moniker, featured lead vocals by Bad Boy signees Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper, as well as guest appearances by Grace Jones, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Skylar Grey, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, T.I., Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, and Usher. Diddy returned once again in 2015 with the mixtape MMM (Money Making Mitch), whose star-studded roster included Big Sean, French Montana, and Travis Scott. After signing a one-album record deal with Motown, Diddy dropped the album The Love Album: Off the Grid (2023), a strictly R&B album with cameos by The-Dream, Herb Alpert, Nova Wav, Busta Rhymes, Swae Lee, Summer Walker, the Weeknd, French Montana, 21 Savage, Justin Bieber, Jazmine Sullivan, Ty Dolla Sign, Kehlani, Coco Jones, and many more. Preceded by the singles "Gotta Move On," "Sex in the Porsche," "Creepin' (Remix)," and "Another One of Me," The Love Album: Off the Grid reached number 19 on the Billboard 200 and number 5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
