Veil

Wanting to import the sound of '90s metallic hardcore brought on by the likes of Snapcase, Quicksand, Turmoil, and Gorilla Biscuits, Veil re-introduced this genre normally familiar with American audiences to their scene of Hannover, Germany. Having gotten their start in 1994 with Raoul Festante on vocals, Nils Nordmann on guitar, Florian Schul on drums, and Jens Lauterbach on bass, Veil quickly released two EPs on Holland's Threesome Records before their 1996 full-length, The Burden of Life, followed. In the midst of two European tours that came about within the next year -- including gigs with 108 and a stint opening for Hazard -- a compilation of their first two 7" along with a few odds and ends came out in 1997, entitled The Works. 1998 saw Veil's third album, Words Again Nothing, released on Century Media Records.
