Vory is an American hip-hop artist, R&B singer, and Grammy-winning songwriter who, in addition to releasing his own material, has collaborated with Beyoncé, Drake, Jay-Z, Bryson Tiller, and other artists. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Tavoris Javon Hollins moved to Louisville, Kentucky, at 16 years old. He was still a teenager when he began collaborating with fellow Louisville resident Bryson Tiller, appearing on Tiller's "Break Bread" under the name King Vory in 2015. He also co-wrote Tiller's first Top 20 hit, "Don't," which peaked at Number 13 on the Hot 100 later that year and eventually went quadruple platinum. From there, King Vory shortened his stage name to Vory and made his solo debut with Overdose, a mix tape that was released in 2016. The Lucky Me EP followed in 2018. Meanwhile, Vory continued writing songs for other artists, landing another Top 20 hit with Drake's 2018 single "Mob Ties" and teaming up with R&B icons Jay-Z and Beyoncé to co-write "Friends," which appeared on The Carters' gold-selling debut, Everything Is Love. Everything Is Love won a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2019. Vory released another single of his own, "You Got it," later that year, and returned in 2020 with a self-titled EP, Vory.
