En 2016, le célèbre compositeur américain d’origine allemande Hans Zimmer a triomphé sur scène lors d’une longue tournée européenne dont l’étape à l’O2 Arena de Prague a fait l’objet non seulement d’un enregistrement en vue d’un album, mais aussi d’une captation video dont toute la France va pouvoir profiter ce 11 janvier 2018 puisque pas moins de 152 salles Pathé vont la projeter sur grand écran. Accompagné d’un groupe mi électro mi rock et du Czech National Symphony Orchestra & Choir, Zimmer s’en donne à cœur joie dans ce show qui synthétise plus de trente ans de travail (et de succès) pour le cinéma. Le concert oscille entre les moments purement émotionnels, voire grandiloquents (Pirate of the Caribbean medley, Gladiator medley) et des plages plus intimistes (You’re so cool, tiré de True Romance). L’ouverture du concert donne le ton en mélangeant ces deux tendances avec un medley regroupant la mélodie séduisante et rythmée de Miss Daisy et son chauffeur, la ritournelle joyeuse et rock de Sherlock Holmes, et enfin la mélodie lyrique et musclée du film d’animation Madagascar (à noter la présence indispensable de Johnny Marr à la guitare électrique). L’électro n’est pas oubliée, en particulier dans les deux suites impressionnantes tirées des films de science fiction Inception et Interstellar. L’ensemble produit chez l’auditeur une sensation étrange et inédite, assez éloignée des grands concerts des vétérans Ennio Morricone ou Lalo Schifrin. Tout comme chez ses confrères, Zimmer est un adepte du mélange des styles et des langages musicaux, mais chez lui il s’applique de manière plus débridée, l’orchestre symphonique n’étant pas nécessairement le cœur qui fait battre ce live. En 2016, le célèbre compositeur américain d’origine allemande Hans Zimmer a triomphé sur scène lors d’une longue tournée européenne dont l’étape à l’O2 Arena de Prague a fait l’objet non seulement d’un enregistrement en vue d’un album, mais aussi d’une captation video dont toute la France va pouvoir profiter ce 11 janvier 2018 puisque pas moins de 152 salles Pathé vont la projeter sur grand écran. Accompagné d’un groupe mi électro mi rock et du Czech National Symphony Orchestra & Choir, Zimmer s’en donne à cœur joie dans ce show qui synthétise plus de trente ans de travail (et de succès) pour le cinéma. Le concert oscille entre les moments purement émotionnels, voire grandiloquents (Pirate of the Caribbean medley, Gladiator medley) et des plages plus intimistes (You’re so cool, tiré de True Romance). L’ouverture du concert donne le ton en mélangeant ces deux tendances avec un medley regroupant la mélodie séduisante et rythmée de Miss Daisy et son chauffeur, la ritournelle joyeuse et rock de Sherlock Holmes, et enfin la mélodie lyrique et musclée du film d’animation Madagascar (à noter la présence indispensable de Johnny Marr à la guitare électrique). L’électro n’est pas oubliée, en particulier dans les deux suites impressionnantes tirées des films de science fiction Inception et Interstellar. L’ensemble produit chez l’auditeur une sensation étrange et inédite, assez éloignée des grands concerts des vétérans Ennio Morricone ou Lalo Schifrin. Tout comme chez ses confrères, Zimmer est un adepte du mélange des styles et des langages musicaux, mais chez lui il s’applique de manière plus débridée, l’orchestre symphonique n’étant pas nécessairement le cœur qui fait battre ce live.
