Sascha Braemer

Berliner Sascha Braemer has championed the sound of underground tech-house from the early '90s. From festival DJ sets to production in the late 2000s, Braemer delivered his debut album, No Home, in 2015 alongside a steady supply of singles and EPs. Growing up in and around Berlin, Braemer discovered dance music through the burgeoning rave scene that started to grow in the disused buildings of old East Berlin. Finding his calling he started out original as a DJ, playing a mix of underground house and techno before helping craft the melodic and chugging sound of tech-house. Making a name for himself as a successful DJ, it wasn't long before Braemer stepped into production and in 2008 he dropped his first single, "Mamba Drums," in collaboration with Philip Bader. Over the next few years, Braemer released music on Supdub, Dekadent Schallplatten, and Claud VonStroke's Dirtybird, and by 2013 he had started his own label, WhatIPlay. After a handful of singles, he issued his debut album, No Home, in 2015 while continuing to DJ, playing to festival crowds and at underground clubs across the world. More singles followed for the likes of Systematic, Hoito, and his own WhatIPlay, including the 2021 EP Who Died and Made You King and a remix of Erik Satie for Deutsche Grammophon. In 2022 Braemer issued his sophomore album, 11 Senses, which combined his progressive tech-house sound with melodic elements and dancefloor sensibilities.
