Released a couple of months prior to his fourth album, Love Is a Four Letter Word, the EP Live Is a Four Letter Word showcases four new ditties from Jason Mraz. If you were worried that the brevity of the EP wouldn’t give Mraz the opportunity to be a cheeky potty-mouth, rest assured by the second song he’s cheerfully singing “You f*****’ did it,” scatting along once he runs out of words. But this is the exception to the rule -- two of the other tunes are love songs, then “I Never Knew You” is an epic nine-minute number graced with lots of spoken word. For the Mraz fan who’s been waiting for new material, this should serve its purpose of whetting the appetite for the full-length quite well.
