"Heard Somebody Say" is a track from Devendra Banhart's fine Cripple Crow full-length issued on XL. The other two cuts here are clawhammer banjo tunes. There's the very short -- and aptly titled -- "Lickety Split," a sweet, simple, love song that is both spiritual and carnal. The final cut, "Chicken," is a hootenanny barn-dance number with repetitive choruses in three-part harmony -- dig the bass singing on this one. This EP is for completists only since it's too short -- only seven-and-a-half minutes total -- to really hold onto (though it is right charming), and is only available from XL in Canada.
