Les Carmina Burana font partie du triptyque de Carol Orff intitulé Trionfi, qui comprend aussi la cantate Catulli Carmina et Trionfo di Afrodite. Cet enregistrement présente la version préparée en 1956 par l'élève de Carl Orff, Wilhelm Killmayer. Le chef Rupert Hubert, grande figure de la musique chorale contemporaine, donne à entendre une version fraîche et neuve de ce chef d'oeuvre ultra populaire.
