« Pour faire un grand musicien, il faut de l’originalité - sans faire n’importe quoi - une connaissance du patrimoine de l’histoire du jazz, suffisamment de technique pour exprimer ses idées – mais pas trop pour ne pas étouffer l’émotion, le don de l’improvisation et des talents de compositeur.
